Walter John Matheus Jr., "Buddy" passed away at his home in Sanger, Texas on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Kingston, New York on June 22, 1947 to Walter and Florence Matheus. Buddy served in the United States Army and served in the Viet Nam and later he worked as a boat mechanic and a plastic fabricator before his retirement. He was a man of few words but when he spoke it was with wisdom. Buddy enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents and four Siblings, Sharon, Rosie, Bonnie and Eugene.

He is survived by his wife Brenda, son Glenn Matheus, son Jeff Matheus and wife Holly, stepson Shawn Brown and wife Nikki, stepson Michael Brown and wife Melissa.  Nine grandchildren , Samantha Matheus, Savannah and Husband Kirby Yale, Travis Matheus, Tommy Matheus, Gage Brown, Makaela Brown, Shane Brown, Ryan Brown and Zane Brown.  Three great grandchildren, Shiloh Yale, Hayden Matheus and Scarlett Brown. Surviving siblings, Patty Houghtaling and husband Ike, Robert Matheus and Kevin Matheus and wife Cheryl.  A host of nieces and nephews that he loved very much

Funeral services will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 1, 2024 with a viewing to begin at 1:00 PM.
