Faithful Servant

Walter Scott Sandefur III (Mickey) of Denton, TX passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday Nov 30th. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ernestine O'Quinn Sandefur. He was the loving father of Scott, who preceded him in death, John, and Mark. He will be missed by his immediate and church families, best friends, grandchildren Scott and Laeken, as well as great grandchildren (Carlie, Alexander, Scott, and Alayna). He loved the Lord his God with all his heart, soul, and mind and was ready to go home. We already miss him.

Mickey will be remembered fondly by everyone who knew him and those whose lives he touched through his profession, professor of Secondary Education at the University of North Texas for 43 years, his church family, and his lifelong loving friends. Mickey selflessly served Christ in ministry, as well as his family, his children (i.e. basketball coach, baseball coach, Sunday School teacher, hunting/fishing guide, molder of young minds, and event coordinator for kids in neighborhood), and the military (Army) during the Korean War.

We would like to express appreciation for the staff at Presbyterian hospital in Denton for their dedicated and loving care.

All services will be held at First Baptist Church on Malone Street in Denton on Tuesday Dec 4th. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2 :00 PM and funeral service to follow at 2:30 PM in the main Sanctuary. Burial will be at Roselawn cemetery.
