Wanda Jean Newton, 83 of Argyle, TX. went to be with the Lord on May 11 ^th , 2017 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.  She was born March 19, 1934, in Snyder, Texas, to parents E.P. Rainwater & Irene (Stone) Rainwater.

She graduated from Snyder High School and attended Howard Payne College in Brownwood, TX.  where she studied music. Wanda loved to bake and decorate beautiful cakes, she enjoyed reading and shopping as well as sewing. She was a Baptist and sang in the church choir for many years. She married Bob Newton in 1954 and they were blessed with 3 children.

She is preceded by her parents and grandson Seth Newton.

She is survived by her sons Ricky, ( Laura) Newton, Denton TX., Randy (Sharon) Newton, Winter Garden, FL.,  and daughter Rhonda (Robbie) Gattis, Lawrence KS.,  9 grandchildren, Lindsay, Ronnie, Robin, Jake, Will, Jessica, Cale, Chase, Ryan, and 4 great grandchildren, Andrea, Caleb, Julian, and Charlotte.

A viewing will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors from 6 P.M.-8 P.M. Friday, May 19, 2017.  Services will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton TX. at 2:00 P.M. Saturday May 20, 2017, with burial in Roselawn Cemetery Denton TX.
