Wanda Pearl
Stewart
October 24, 1930 – August 26, 2018
Wanda Pearl (Lockhart) Stewart, age 87, went to be with her Savior and beloved husband, John Wesley Stewart, early Sunday morning, August 26, 2018.
Wanda was born October 24, 1930, in Denton to Ruby and Sy Lockhart. She married her childhood sweetheart, John, in July 1949, and they celebrated 66 years of marriage together. Wanda was a homemaker who enjoyed traveling with her husband and playing cards with her friends. A lifelong member of First Baptist Denton, Wanda also attended Gateway Church and loved her church families greatly.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Myers, husband, Gary; granddaughter Kimberly Laseter, husband, Jason, and three precious great-grandchildren, James, Jackson Stewart, and Abigail; as well as many nieces and nephews and countless dear friends. Wanda will be remembered as spirited and fun-loving, and as someone who enjoyed singing, dancing, and cutting up. She was always the life of the party and left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Gateway Chapel of Denton, with Rev. Buddy Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 28, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors.
