Wilbert Dean Wynn, 79, of Denton passed away on April 16, 2016. He was born on December 26, 1936 in Emerson, Arkansas to William Edgar and Eunice (Nelson) Wynn. He graduated from Southern Arkansas University with a BS in geology and obtained a Master of Science from East Texas State University. He married Barney Jo Turner in Brownwood, Texas on July 22, 1965. Mr. Wynn started his thirty-eight year teaching career in Bangs, Texas. He continued to serve the students of Iowa Park and Clyde, Texas, schools as a chemistry and physics teacher. Mr. Wynn was the Key Club sponsor at Clyde High School for many years along with coaching UIL science events at Iowa Park High.
Mr. Wynn was a member of Rotary Club and Kiwanis. He served in the National Guard in Arkansas and Texas along with being an active blood donor all of his life. His was a life long Methodist.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barney Jo Wynn of Denton, daughter, Sharon Wynn Montcalm and husband Ryan of Denton, son, Dean Alan Wynn and wife Beth Ann of McKinney, brother, Nelson Wynn of Magnolia, Arkansas and grandchildren, Abbie, Davis, Claire and Molly Wynn, and Reese Montcalm.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at Asbury United Methodist Church in Denton. Funeral services will commence at 2:00 P.M. at Asbury United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.
