William (Bill) Burney Floyd, Jr., 80, of Denton, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at home. He was born October 5, 1935 in Henderson, Kentucky to William B. Floyd, Sr. and Anne Tate Harding Floyd. He served in the U. S. Army. He married Sharlene Elliott on July 18, 1970 in San Antonio. During their marriage of 45 years they raised 3 children all of whom who are going to truly miss his wisdom, advice, and companionship. He had retired from U.N.T. as a librarian and was a member of Highland Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 5, 2015 from Noon until the service at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Sharlene Floyd of Denton; daughter, Beth Dolliver and husband Dennis of Celina; sons, Bill Floyd and wife Lynnda of Palm Bay, FL and James Floyd of Dallas; grandchildren, Raelynn and Elianna Dolliver, Billy and Timmy Floyd. Sister in Law: Diane Elliott of San Antonio, TX and Brother in Law Ken Elliott of Federal Way, WA as well as several cousins.
