William "Carl" Carroll, age 77, went to be with his Lord, peacefully at home on June 30,2018. He was born March 24, 1941 in Aubrey, Texas to Raymond and Nora Carroll. He attended Denton schools and graduated from Denton High School in 1958.
Carl started working at 16 years old as a meat cutter at Wolf's Grocery in Denton, which was the start of a lifelong career of cutting meat. He cut meat for Tom Thumb for 36 years. He then started "Carroll's Guide Service" where he was able to take people out, and share his true passion in life, "fishing". Carl made many new friends while taking them fishing on Lake Texoma, Lake Ray Roberts, Lake Ray Hubbard, and Lake Lewisville. Carl then went back to handling meat for Albertsons and Walmart for 6 more years until retirement. Retirement led Carl to "do what ever he wanted to do, whenever he wanted to do it." He and his wife Debbie worked out in his shop, went to auctions, fished, shot turtles, and spent time with family and friends doing whatever they wanted to do.
Carl was honest with everyone that he met, and you always knew where you stood with him. He could be very cantankerous, but he enjoyed life, his family and friends. He was always "the life of the party". Carl always had a smile and made you laugh. He was "Cowboy" thru and thru. He lived life to the fullest until his last day.
Carl is survived by his wife Debbie Carroll, son Brandon Carroll, son Sean Smith, daughter Jennifer Harris, step-son Justin Reeves, step-daughter Jakki Lock, 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends that he called family.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Nora; brothers, RH Carroll, AV Carroll, Bobby Joe Carroll and Billy Ray Carroll; and 1 sister Eunice Louetta Carroll.
A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church Krugerville on Saturday, July 7, 2018 with lifelong friend, Sam Redfern, officiating. The family would like to invite everyone to a "Celebration of Life" lunch immediately following the memorial service at the church's fellowship hall to share memories of their time spent with Carl.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that you make a donation to a charity of your choice, in memory of Carl.
