William Devanny
Miller Sr.
March 27, 1944 – January 2, 2019
William Devanny Miller Sr., 74 of Denton, Texas went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 2, 2019 at his home. He was born on March 27, 1944 in Chicago, IL. to Richard Haywood and Helen Mary (Devanny) Miller. William married the love of his life Carol Anne Klaas on June 18, 1966.
He was ordained a deacon in the Catholic Church on November 16, 1996. Bill was a servant leader of the Lord using his many gifts and talents as a park ranger, police officer, volunteer fire fighter, police chief, deacon, homeless shelter founder, soup kitchen volunteer, and missionary. He loved life, always loved his family and loved helping others and in all ways. He will be deeply missed.
Bill is survived by his wife, Carol Anne, daughters, Mary Christine Andrews (Michael), Mary Carol "Cari" Selzer (Dennis), son, William D. Miller Jr. (Shannon), brother, Richard H. Miller and eleven grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 6-8 P.M. with Rosary said at 7:00 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Mass will be Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Marks Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested to please make donations to the Frederick Place Homeless Shelter in Rhinelander or Our Daily Bread in Denton.
