William "Bill" Sharar, 85, of Denton passed away on February 13, 2020 at home. He was born in Crown Point New Mexico to Guy and Thelma (Michael) Sharar.

Bill was an avid outdoorsman. He loved camping, hiking, rock climbing and anything outdoors. Bill was active with Climbers for Christ, Wilderness Connection Outdoor Ministries and High Adventure Program (HAP). He shared his love of the outdoors and his love for Christ with hundreds of people.

He is survived by his sons, Bill Sharar and wife Carmen of Austin, Texas, Thom Sharar and his wife Rosie of Denton, Rich Sharar and wife Becky. His grandchildren, Jake Sharar, Ian Sharar and wife Madison, Dylan Sharar, Kerstin Sharar and Kira Sharar, great-grandchildren, Salem Sharar and Marissa Sharar.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and sisters, Darleen Wohlslagel and Bonita Sharar.

Visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors from 9-10:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 20, 2020. The Funeral Service, with US Army honors, will follow at 11:15 AM at the Dallas / Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
