Dr. William S. Smith, Jr. MD 89 of Denton passed away December 28, 2022, at his residence.  He was born in Baton Rouge, LA on August 27, 1933, to William and Beatrice Smith.

He attended school at Lamar University for his undergraduate. He also attended the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and graduated in 1959. He was also a member of the Phi Chi Medical Fraternity Zeta class.

He was a Pediatrician in the Houston area for most of his medical career. He retired from Pedi Place in 2014 in Lewisville Texas as pediatrician and Medical Director.

He married Carolyn Jeanne Morris on September 15, 1962, in Houston.  She preceded him in death on January 14, 2020.  They were members of the Christ The Servant Lutheran Church of Denton.

There will be a Funeral Service on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors, followed by a Graveside Service at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023 at the Woodlawn Garden of Memories in Houston, TX.

Dr. Smith is survived by his daughters, Victoria Smith of Denton, Alyson Smiley of Houston, son, Patrick Smith of Kingwood, grandchildren, Logan and Brittany Smith and great grandson, Aiden Smith.
