Obituary

Willis Henry Mitchell Jr., 86, of Denton, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016. He was born January 21, 1929 in Arnett, OK. He married the love of his life Catherine Gentry on May 20, 1950 at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Denton. He was owner/operator of Mitchell's Cleaners and later retired from Texas Woman's University. He was a member at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church where is served as an elder.

He was a long time member of the Optimist Club and served as Governor of the North Texas District. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and reading.

Willis is survived by his wife Catherine, daughters Rebecca Ghazi and husband Mo of Richmond, Reca Oliver and husband A.W of Denton, Cathy Brearley of Denton, son Willis Henry (Trace) Mitchell III and wife Gisella of McKinney, sisters Mary Kaye Copp of Denton, brother Bob Mitchell of Denton, eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death my his parents, two sisters and seven brothers.

A memorial service will be January 18, 2016 at 11:00 at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church of Denton with Rev. Dr. Fred W. Cassell and Rev. Dr. Alan Baroody officiating.
