Our beloved Emily Joyce Milstead went to be with her Lord on May 11, 2012. She was born in Denton, TX on April 9, 1987 to Jon Allan Milstead and Terri Jayne Steigleder. Emily attended Woodrow Wilson Elementary, Strickland Junior High, Billy Ryan High School and was a member of Denton Bible Church.
Emily was an avid music lover, especially country music. She loved watching sports, like the Dallas Mavericks, the Texas Rangers, the Dallas Cowboys and especially OU sporting events.
Emily enjoyed going to the beach, hanging out and camping with friends and helping the less fortunate, needy and the elderly. She loved her family and friends dearly and put everyone before herself. She was an outstanding Account Manager for Dr. Pepper in Denton and Irving.
The family has asked for memorial contributions to be made to the North Texas Chapter of Lupus Foundation of America, 15660 N. Dallas Pkwy # 120, Dallas, TX 75248. Emily had a close connection to this illness because of her deep love for her family.
The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors for visitation on Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Denton Bible Church with Pastor Tom Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.
She is survived by her parentsTerri Steigleder of Denton,TX and her father Jon Milstead of Paris, TX, her sister Jennifer Nelsen and her husband Erik of Frisco,TX, her brother Tillman Milstead of Denton, TX, her grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Charles Chittum of Lawton, OK and her Uncle Smith Steigleder and cousin Smith Alec Steigleder. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Henry Milstead and Eva Greenslade and great grandparents, Tillman and Luella Smith.
