Robert Allen Strawn passed away September 17, 2017, in Denton, Texas surrounded by family and friends. He was born March 26, 1960 in Wills Point, Texas. Robert married the love of his life, Mindy Francks-Strawn on September 18, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mindy when she was called home on February 12, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents Norman Strawn, Sarah LaGrone, and Troy LaGrone.
Robert was Co-Founder and Grower of local Denton staple Four Seasons Nursery. To say he loved his plants would be an understatement. He was also an avid sports fan, but in particular he loved football and the Cowboys. He also loved NASCAR and other competition Motor Racing.
Robert also loved to cook and was often in his kitchen when he wasn't watching sports or working in his greenhouses. He loved to brag about his pepper plants and loved to share his harvests to those who dared to try them. He was looking forward to his newest crops featuring Ghost Peppers, Trinidad Scorpion Peppers and the hottest of the hot, Carolina Reapers.
Above and beyond all, Robert valued and cherished his family and was an adoring husband, loving father and wonderful grandfather.
Robert is survived by his sons Allen Strawn, Steven Strawn, and Ryan Weides, brother, James Strawn and his wife Ava, sister Joanna LaGrone-Headrick and her husband Jason, Grandsons Micah and Elijah Strawn, and Lana and Chris Weides.
Funeral Services are Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. and will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors, 2025 W University Dr, Denton, TX 76201
Interment will follow on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Deadwood Cemetery in Deadwood, TX.
