On October 22,2021 Don Roland Gay of Drop, Tx passed away in Ft. Worth Texas. He was 84 years old. Don was born on November 13, 1936 in Ferris, Texas to Robert and Jewell (Millsap) Gay and was the youngest of 8 children.

In 1969 he married Dale Shrum, their blended family lived in Drop Texas on the Gay family farm. He retired from EMC/North Texas Plastics in 1999 when he became a truck driver for Wallace Salvage in Justin Texas as well as continuing his work on the family farm in Drop.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 7 siblings as well as his children Jimmy and Debbie Shrum.

He is survived by his wife Dale of Drop. Daughters Jan Sims (and David) of Denton, Angela Rawls (and George) of Poolville, sons Mike Shrum of Forestburg, Kent Weathers, (and Holly) of Denton, Brent Gay of Sanger. As well as 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many other beloved nieces and nephews

His servant heart and wise, quick wit will be missed dearly not only by his family but by his beloved Drop community and so many other friends. The Dallas cowboys lost their biggest fan, Drop lost a legend and it's self-appointed sheriff and a family lost a father and friend.
