Gilberto Alvarez Sr., 83 of Sanger, Texas went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 23, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Star County, Texas on January 13, 1935 to Ramon and Susana (Garcia) Alvarez. Gilberto married the love of his life Rosario Garcia in 1974.

Gilberto is survived by his wife of 44 years Rosario G. Alvarez, three daughters, Angela LaFuente and husband Cesar, Maria D. Mondragon and husband Adam, Aurora Alvarez, one son, Gilberto Alvarez Jr. and wife Yesica and eight grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 5-6 P.M. with Rosary set at 6:00 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral services with be on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denton, Texas with interment to follow at Sanger Cemetery.
