Obituary

Funeral Services for Jackie Lynn Standifer 74, of Krum will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors, funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery in Krum, Texas. Jackie's nephew, Rev. David Johnson will officiate the service.

Jackie went to his Heavenly home on February 9, 2022. He was born on Monday, October 27, 1947 in Denton, Texas, the youngest of Doris Mae Garrett Standifer and Marvin Lee Standifer. He lived all of his life in Krum, Texas.

He attended Krum Schools and graduated from Krum High School in 1967. He also attended Cooke County Junior College (NCTC), and earned an Associate's Degree. He loved all sports and he played four years on the Krum High School Basketball team and in 1967, he played on the Krum team that won second place in the State Tournament in Austin, Texas, where he had a record of 14 rebounds. He continued to be a fan of the Krum Bobcat teams and attended as many games as possible.

He never married, nor had any children. He felt that since he was the youngest of his siblings that it was his duty to take care of our mother and no one could convince him otherwise. He took care of her until she passed away in December of 2005. He had many friends and loved visiting with everyone at the coffee shops and other meeting places in Krum.

Jackie's family is very grateful to his caring friends and especially to Yvette Petty Laird for the many kind things she and others did for Jackie.

He is survived by his sisters; Bea Standifer Keene of Bonham, TX., Reba Standifer Gant and husband Dale of Krum, TX., brother; Charles Lee Standifer of Corinth, TX., sister-in-law; Linda Standifer of Krum, TX., Nieces; Karen Standifer Johnson (David), Kay Standifer Pierce (Clay), Gayla Standifer Bolin (Jeff), Lorie Gant Sampley (Rod), Tammy Gant Zuber, Misti Gant Price (Joe). Nephews; Charlie A. Standifer, Greg Standifer (Miranda), Darren Standifer (Cathy), Michael Standifer (Cindy), Shawn Standifer (Nina), Dennis Standifer (Molly), Lance Standifer. Many great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends. Uncle and Aunt, Glen and Betty Garrett of Gainesville, TX.

He was preceded in death his parents, brothers: Milton R. Standifer, Edwin D. "Red" Standifer, sister-in law, Wilma Standifer, brother-in-law, Richard Keene, nephews, Mark D. Keene, Levi Standifer, Ricky Standifer.

Pallbearers will be nephews; Charlie Standifer, Greg Standifer, Darren Standifer, Michael Standifer, Shawn Standifer, Dennis Standifer, and Lance Standifer. Honorary pallbearers will be his great nephews.

In lieu of flowers, Jackie and his family ask that donations be made to Hearts for Homes, 826 E. McKinney St. Denton, Texas 76209, in memory of Jackie, or to Plainview Cemetery Association, to Hazel Masten 402 Magnolia St. Denton, Texas 76201
