Obituary

Joy Marlene Dwyer passed away surrounded by loved ones in Denton, Texas, on January 21, 2023. She was born in Denton on January 1, 1959, to Everett Martin and June Edwards Donowho. She attended Denton schools and graduated from Denton High School and the University of North Texas before embarking on her career as a communications professional. Joy was a gifted writer and award-winning photographer, but perhaps her greatest passion was her love for her husband and sons and dear friends.

Joy is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Donowho. She is survived by her husband, Brad, and their sons, Sean, Ryan, and Alan Dwyer; brother Rick Donowho, and his wife, Priscilla; sister, Veva Vonler; nephew, Zachary Vonler and his wife, Cori; great niece, Ember Vonler; nephew Kevin Huffaker; and many, many beloved extended family members and friends.

A visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral Home  from 10 to 11 AM, with funeral service beginning at 11 AM on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. Interment will follow at
Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.
