Mildred Crook Allen died in Fort Worth Texas on May 30, 2023. Visitation will be at DeBerry Funeral Home in Denton Texas from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Graveside services will follow in Childress, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the American Heart Association.

Mildred was born May 15, 1925 to JD and Carl Crook. She graduated from Childress high school in 1941 and thereafter was employed as a secretary and court reporter. She married William Bert Allen, Jr in Childress on February 14, 1946. To this union were born, William Bert, Allen III, and Mary Elizabeth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and children, and sister, Maxine, Shirley, and brothers, JC and Harold.
Mildred was an active member of Lamar Baptist church, Wichita Falls, Texas for over 45 years where she taught Bible study and served on many committees. In the most recent years, she was a member of Southmont, Baptist, Church, and Denton.

Mildred is survived by her granddaughters, Laine LaBrecque, Lauren Pavell and husband, Jeff, great grandson, Hudson Pavell, and great granddaughter, Sawyer Pavell. Her brother Don Crook, sisters, Joe Thomas, Lois Smith, and special friend Marina Lu as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
