Obituary

Mitchell "Glenn" Monk was born on May, 19, 1953 to Lella Joann Monk and Flann E. Monk in Forney, Texas.  The angels came and delivered Glenn to heaven on January 1, 2020. The life he lived between birth and death was full, blessed and complete.  He was raised in Dallas by his mother and stepfather, Charles Speegle. Glenn graduated from Kimball High School and attended Mountain View College.  In January, 1976, he married Corliss Ann. They have a son, David, and twin daughters Deborah and Diana. Glenn was an excellent husband, father, and exceptional grandfather, fondly known as "Pa" to his four grandchildren.  Glenn had a long career at Spring Valley Construction Company, which spanned 41 years.  Since his cancer diagnosis in March, he over actively shared his love of Jesus to anyone and everyone! He said he was on a mission before his time ended.  Glenn enjoyed life, family time; sports; coaching; giving, and sharing Jesus!  Glenn accepted Jesus as his savior at the age of 17, and immediately sought a church where he could learn, grow and serve. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Duncanville, and First Baptist Church of Cedar Hill, Texas before moving to the Denton area.  He and his family began attending Denton Bible Church in 2013.  Family members, to Glenn, were not restricted to a blood line.  He included those from churches, work, friends, caregivers, neighbors, and acquaintances.  He is preceded in death by his parents and stepfather.  He is survived by his wife, Corliss; son David Monk and wife Veronica; daughter Deborah Samples and husband Nicholas, and daughter, Diana Monk.  He has three sisters, Cheryl Wuthrich, Carrie Amador, and Kathey Moreno.  He has four brothers, Kenny Wuthrich, Hector Amador, Robert Moreno, and Flann Jr.  Other loved ones include: his mother in love, Patsy Needham; nieces and nephews; their wives, husbands and children.  He loved those cousins from the Bass family and their spouses.  What a wonderful life it has been! We will miss him greatly until we reunite.
